Moving one step closer towards equality

The Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments all guarantee the right to privacy, also known as “the right to be left alone.” A state statute that forbade married couples from accessing contraceptives was overturned in Griswold v. Connecticut in 1965 due to “zones of privacy.” Following Loving v. Virginia, interracial unions were made legal in 1967. The right to contraception was recognized by the Eisenstadt v. Baird ruling in 1972. And in 1973, Roe v. Wade established women’s right to reproductive freedom. These Supreme Court decisions support the idea that choices regarding intimate relationships are private and best left to the individual.

After all, it is sad to see that despite years of work, LGBTQ people are still facing roadblocks, and after decades of research, reality still confirms that LGBTQ people make everyday changes in their lives to avoid pervasive discrimination in the workplace, personal life, public sphere and in having access to vital medical treatment.

Does your company welcome lesbian, gay, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ)? People in this country are still being fired, harassed, and targeted at work because they are LGBTQ, despite recent advancements.

Someone’s rights are being violated only because of who they are or what they believe in. Discrimination is detrimental and keeps inequality alive.

Every human being has the right and freedom to exist and live their truth fully with no fear. LGBTQ have the right to practice their freedom with no discrimination and equally as any other individual.

WHY SUPPORT LGBTQ?

Simply because they are humans, and Human rights amendments consider that discrimination based on sexual orientation is prohibited by the Equal Protection Clause.

We support regulations that will uphold the dignity of all people. We strive for a society where everyone can fully enjoy their rights.
